"loved ones, friends, current and former associates both beloved and/or missed,
i offer to you today under the guise of my music/performance art/internet/slightly-more- pretentious-than-reality persona "The John V. Variety Hour" my debut LP, HR 1
it is the first collection of John V. Variety songs that have been professionally mastered at studio quality (by the effervescvently talented Zak Mering of GunkTVRecords)
in the words of my own silly (and somehow truncated) liner notes, it is "the best of 2015's Debutante trilogy and more... re-recorded, remixed, rearranged... a solo and splendiferous aural odyssey of psychedelic disco and baroque avant-pop; as a polyphonic / polyrhythmic musical narrative related in the ringing tones of introspection, abstraction, allegory, and obscurantism, so as to cast sharp relief on our young belle's Fall and Rise in a world... a song of the self that begins, against the old testament, at the end, and lingers upon our hero's repeated entanglements in time and space on the course that follows"
it was recorded all throughout 2015 and into 2016, then revised and remixed throughout this year
featuring artwork by Sera Seine, as well as guest vocals
also features remixed drumming from masterful percussionist and composer Keenan LeBlanc, as well as improvised piano by the enigmatic gifted performer Elias Dagher
it's free to listen to or download and i hope you enjoy it if you do either of those
best wishes, warm regards, and also loud songs with multiple melodic voices,
john v. variety"
